Description Aban Offshore Limited provides drilling and oil field services for the offshore exploration and production of hydrocarbons to the oil industry in India and internationally. It is also involved in the ownership and operation of wind turbines for the generation of wind power. The company owns and operates 20 offshore assets, including 15 jack-up offshore drilling rigs; 2 drill ships; 1 floating production platform; and 1 jack-up rig, as well as 1 drill ship on bareboat charter. In addition, it installs and operates 165 wind energy generators at Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. The company was formerly known as Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore Ltd and changed its name to Aban Offshore Limited in September 2006.
