Description Andrew Witty (Aged 45), Appointed on 31st January 2008. Chief Executive Officer. Mr Witty was named Chief Executive Officer Designate for GSK in October 2007 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 21st May 2008. He joined the Group in 1985 and has held senior positions in Asia, Africa and the USA. Immediately prior to being appointed CEO, Andrew was President, Pharmaceuticals Europe, a position he held from January 2003. He is a member of the Business Council for Britain, a Board Member of PhRMA, President of EFPIA, a Member of the Singapore Economic Development Board?s International Advisory Council and an Adviser to the Governor of Guangzhou, China.
