Arthur Howson
Description Arthur L. Howson, Jr., 57, Class II director and chairman of our board, is a shareholder of Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A., where he has practiced since 1981, specializing in real estate, banking, and corporate law. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Greenville County Bar, and the American Bar Association, and is listed in the book The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Real Estate Law. Mr. Howson received an A.B. degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1973 and a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1976. While in law school, Mr. Howson was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe. He was admitted to practice law in the State of South Carolina in 1976. Mr. Howson has been active in the community through business, civic, and church activities. He has served as president of Senior Action, Inc., the Greenville Chorale, and Greenville Friends of the Zoo and has served as a member of the board of directors of Gateway House, Inc. He is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he has served as an elder and has sung in the Sanctuary Choir since 1981.
