The company also designs, manufactures, and distributes instruments under the Polaron and Emitech brand names, which prepare samples for examination in electron microscopes for use in the life and materials sciences and semiconductor production; and gas purifiers for use in metals analysis utilizing the Arc Spark spectrometry technique. In addition, it provides motor control systems, micro-tensile stages, cooling stages, digital imaging for electron microscopes, and beam blanking equipment to OEM customers or directly to end users, which are used to enable or improve the observation of objects under a microscope; and instruments used to test the physical properties of soil and rocks, which are sold to academic institutions and commercial customers conducting geotechnical research or providing testing services in relation to civil engineering projects.
