Description Merck KGaA operates as a pharmaceutical, chemical, and life science company worldwide. The Performance Materials division offers performance chemicals for applications in fields, including consumer electronics, lighting, coatings, printing, plastics, and cosmetics. This division provides liquid crystals based on polymer stabilized vertical alignment technologies, which are primarily used in mid-and large-sized televisions, as well as liquid crystals based on in-plane switching technology that are also used in televisions and mobile devices; and develops and markets a product portfolio of decorative and functional pigments. The Merck Millipore division offers products and services that are used for customers in the research, development, and production of biotech and pharmaceutical drugs, as well as general laboratory applications.
