Morry Weiss
Description Mr. Weiss joined American Greetings in 1961 and has had various responsibilities with American Greetings including Group Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Creative. In June 1978, Mr. Weiss was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer. From October 1987 until June 1, 2003, Mr. Weiss was Chief Executive Officer of American Greetings. In February 1992, Mr. Weiss became our Chairman. Mr. Weiss serves as a member of the advisory board of Primus Venture Partners (equity investor in companies requiring growth capital) and a member of the board of directors of Dots (a young women?s clothing retailer). Mr. Weiss served as a director of National City Corporation (a publicly-held financial holding company) from 1991 until its sale in December 2008. Mr. Weiss participates in a number of professional, educational and non-profit organizations, including as Chairman of the Yeshiva University Board of Trustees and as a trustee of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Morry Weiss is the father of Jeffrey Weiss, a director and the President and Chief Operating Officer of American Greetings; the father of Zev Weiss, a director and the Chief Executive Officer of American Greetings; and the brother of Erwin Weiss, our Senior Vice President, Enterprise Resource Planning.
