Scott Kriens
Description Mr. Kriens has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Juniper Networks since October 1996 and served as Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Networks from October 1996 to September 2008. Mr. Kriens is currently an employee of Juniper Networks. From April 1986 to January 1996, Mr. Kriens served as Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Operations at StrataCom, Inc., a telecommunications equipment company, which he co-founded in 1986. Mr. Kriens also serves on the board of directors of Equinix, Inc., a provider of global data center services and served on the board of directors of VeriSign, Inc., a provider of digital infrastructure solutions, from January 2001 to May 2008. As a result of Mr. Kriens? prior service as the Company?s Chief Executive Officer, he developed an extensive understanding of the Company?s business and the networking industry and can contribute to the Board a highly informed perspective on the business independent from that of the Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kriens? experience with the Company from its early stages also offers the Board insight to the evolution of the Company, including from execution, cultural, operational, competitive and industry points of view. In addition, his experience as a director in other technology companies provides him with an understanding of the operation of other boards of directors that he can contribute in his role as Chairman.
