Description Mr. Van Der Kar, age 55, has served as a manager of his family?s farm, Pinehill Ranch, since 1978. The Van Der Kar family farms approximately 100 acres of avocados and has been delivering avocados to Calavo since 1959. He is a current member of the board of the California Chermoya Association, a current member of the Farm Credit West Local Advisory Committee, a current member of the Saticoy Lemon Association Board of Directors, a former member of the board of the Santa Barbara County Workforce Investment Board, and is a former director of the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau.
