Stephen Hoffmann
Description STEPHEN G. HOFFMANN, a resident of Indian Wells, California, retired as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Canyon National Bank effective December 31, 2009. Mr. Hoffmann was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank since its inception in 1998 and currently serves as a director of Canyon National Bank and Canyon Bancorp, and continues to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Canyon Bancorp pending receipt of regulatory approval for Mark Gustafson to assume this position. Mr. Hoffmann moved to Palm Springs more than 21 years ago from Scottsdale, Arizona to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Palm Springs Savings Bank. He served in that capacity until September 1996 when Palm Springs Savings Bank merged with Hemet Federal Savings and Loan Association at which time he became President of Hemet Federal, a position he resigned in January 1997. From February 1997 until October 1997, Mr. Hoffmann served as Vice-Chairman, in charge of Corporate Development, at First Community Bank in Indian Wells when he became President and CEO of Canyon National Bank. He also served as a Director of First Charter Bank, Los Angeles, California and as a Director of Monterey Bay Bank and its holding company Monterey Bay Bancorp, Watsonville, California. Mr. Hoffmann is an active member of the Palm Springs community, involved in a variety of civic and professional organizations. He served as Treasurer and Founding Director of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, Founding Director of Palm Springs Economic Development Corp, a past President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, past Director and Treasurer of the Palm Springs Art Museum, and past Director of Desert Hospital. Furthermore, he serves as Director for the following organizations: Healthcare Assessment Resource Center, Braille Institute, Palm Springs Art Museum (Honorary Director), United Way of the Desert and Palm Springs Charities, and serves as Vice President of the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational. In 2006, Mr. Hoffmann served as Chairman of the American Heart Association?s Coachella Valley Heartwalk, Chairman of the California State University San Bernardino?Palm Desert Golf Tournament and Chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Golf Tournament.
