Description Mr. Williams, 50, has served as President of A. T. Williams Oil Company (gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants and travel centers) since 1995; and President and Chief Executive Officer of WilcoHess LLC since 2001. In addition to the management and oversight skills and experiences gained in serving as the top executive of A.T. Williams Oil Company, Mr. Williams has a unique perspective on the needs of customers within BB&T?s footprint through his responsibility for the daily operations of a chain of over 400 gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants and travel centers in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Carolinas. In addition, Mr. Williams has gained experience in building ties between business and the local community through his involvement with community-oriented organizations such as the Winston-Salem Alliance. Mr. Williams also has extensive experience in finance and qualifies as an ?audit committee financial expert? under SEC guidelines.
