Description Südzucker AG supplies sugar products in Europe. The companys Sugar segment produces and sells sugar and related products. This segment is also involved in agricultural/beet cultivation activities; and markets animal feed, a by-product of sugar and bioethanol production. Its Special Products segment produces functional food ingredients that include inulin, oligofructose, isomalt, Palatinose, and rice derivatives; and ingredients for the non-food, pharmaceutical, and animal feed sectors. This segment also offers frozen and chilled pizzas, pasta dishes, and snacks; develops, packages, and markets portion packs ranging from classic sugar portion packs to baked goods, chocolate, sweeteners, spices, and sandwich spreads primarily for hotels, restaurants and bars, and caterers; and produces starch for the food and non-food sectors, and bioethanol. The companys CropEnergies segment produces bioethanol for the fuel sector. Its Fruit segment provides fruit preparations for the dairy, ice cream, and baked goods industries; and produces apple juice and berry juice concentrates, juices, and purees.
